India's Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) will reportedly announce the winners of a WiMAX tender this week. BSNL is planning a nationwide rollout of WiMAX, investing more than $1 billion in the project.
According to the Business Standard, three vendors--Huawei, Telsima and Alvarion--have quoted the lowest prices while ZTE and Alcatel-Lucent have also placed bids. BSNL has already launched WiMAX in Gujarat using equipment from Soma Networks.
