3 to come to U.K. market with cheap HSDPA

Tools

We may actually see a wireless broadband pricing war in the U.K. Unstrung reports that U.K. operator 3 plans to shake up the industry next month when it launches HSDPA with speeds up to 2.8 Mbps for about $20 per month for 1GB service. That offer will be significantly cheaper than competitors Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone. The average price for 1GB service in the U.K. is about $60. Other pricing plans will include a 3GB service for $30 per month and a 7GB service for $50.

3 shook up the U.K. wireless industry last November when it launched a flat-rate wireless data package that includes services from Skype, eBay, Yahoo, Google, Orb, Sling Media, Nokia, Microsoft and Sony Ericsson.
