AT&T offering free femtocells to customers with poor coverage

AT&T (NYSE:T) has reportedly begun mailing coupons for free 3G MicroCell indoor base stations to subscribers who are likely to have poor AT&T coverage in their homes. An AT&T spokesman declined to comment to Computerworld but indicated that the operator has experimented with offering the femtocells for free. AT&T is pricing the MicroCell at $150 and offering a $100 mail-in rebate on the femtocells and another $50 mail-in rebate to subscribers who sign up for a new DSL plan. Article
