AlcaLu, Motorola invest in Sequans to speed up LTE chip development

Chipmaker Sequans Communications announced Alcatel-Lucent and Motorola's investment arm, Motorola Ventures, are leading a new round of capital to fund Sequans' LTE chip development program. The amount of the round was not disclosed. Sequans' other existing investors also participated in the round, and the company said it will use the new funding to accelerate its LTE development timeline and add resources to its LTE teams. Sequans said it expects to demonstrate its first LTE samples in early 2010. Release
