Finland grants 4G spectrum

Tools

Finnish carriers TeliaSonera, Elisa and DNA have all been granted additional wireless spectrum, potentially allowing them to start building out 4G mobile networks immediately in the 1800 MHz band. The move is unique in the fact that most of Europe is allocating the 2600 MHz band for 4G services, traditionally allocating 1800 MHz for GSM services. LTE could be commercially available in Europe as early as 2009 or 2010 as a result of the award. Article
