GSA: 248 operators globally launching or testing LTE

Tools

The latest LTE update from the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) indicates that the number of network deployments using both FDD and TDD blends of this technology is accelerating. The study claims that 248 operators worldwide have committed to commercial LTE network deployments or are engaged in trials, tests or investigations--60 percent higher than a year ago. The GSA is forecasting that more than 100 networks supporting LTE will have been launched by the end of 2012. The number of LTE networks that have been commercially launched now numbers 35, with TDD deployments gaining ground following the commercial launch of three networks last month in Saudi Arabia.
