LTE can't come soon enough for some operators

Tools

LTE can't come soon enough for some operators, states a new report from Analysys Mason. The report details how wireless data traffic will grow 10 times in developed markets in the period until 2015. "LTE can provide data at a sixth of the price of basic W-CDMA. In the long term, it may be the only way to profitably manage the increasing demand for data traffic," said Helen Karapandžic', Analysys Mason analyst and co-author of the report. While LTE is expected to bring in opportunities such as the ability to cost effectively offer video, TV and gaming, the report also notes that the technology offers a challenge for operators to integrate LTE into their existing operations.
