Portland taxpayers could pay WiFi dismantling bill

When MetroFi announced plans to shutter its free ad-based WiFi network in Portland, Ore.,  in June, it promised to take down all of the 600-some WiFi antennas around the city. But the antennas sitting on top of Portland's streetlights and traffic signals are still there, and the city is beginning to worry that its own taxpayers will have to flip the bill to take them down. The dismantling of the antennas is estimated to cost $150 each, which works out to be $90,000. Article
