Pyramid Research: Netbooks to drive mobile broadband
A new report from Pyramid Research says netbooks are the key to mobile broadband growth. The firm says the devices are beginning to hit a growth wave even in the midst of an economic slump. About 13 million were sold worldwide in 2008, but 10 million came in the second half of the year. "There is growing evidence that netbooks are catching on with the under-21 crowd; if that trend develops, the adoption rate for netbooks could accelerate even more, which means these cheap and approachable devices could have a huge impact on how network operators make money off their services," said report co-author Cristiano Laux. So far the only netbook with BUILT-IN Broadband capablity that I can find is the HP1151NR. If they are destined to become the driving force behind Broadband where are they?
