Report: BSNL set to announce WiMAX vendors
India's Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) will reportedly announce the winners of a WiMAX tender this week. BSNL is planning a nationwide rollout of WiMAX, investing more than $1 billion in the project.
According to the Business Standard, three vendors--Huawei, Telsima and Alvarion--have quoted the lowest prices while ZTE and Alcatel-Lucent have also placed bids. BSNL has already launched WiMAX in Gujarat using equipment from Soma Networks.

These are not the only three companies being considered for the offerings in the other circles, and no decision has been made on the matter by BSNL. This article was written with little fact checking or was obviously planted by one of the three vendors listed. A later article in the Business Standards mentions all of the vendors in the running.

if bsnl is planning for wimax then why they have introduced bsnl 3g services,so indirectly they are drawing us back,thats unnecessary and its hilarious to launch 3g services,better bsnl should have gone for wimax.
