It is a good thing tech giants start branching into the WiMAX arena, while technological innovations by young start-ups shouldn't be choked by big brothers. Compared with 6 months ago, close encounters between WiMAX abd 3G have surfaced more often. In view of the mobile boradband technology evolving cladogenetically,3G will struggle to keep its turf, whereas mobile multimedia will penetrate into the hitherto unforeseen segments. The treelike branching of mobile multimedia into new segments will be initiated by visionary entrepreneurs with shallow pockets, but it shouldn;t be a harvest time for big enterprises.
