Report: Vodafone chief to announce departure

Tools

According to the Financial Times, Vodafone chief executive Arun Sarin is expected to announce his departure from the global operator giant in July. Vittorio Colao, currently Vodafone's deputy chief executive and head of the company's European business will replace Sarin.

Sarin has most recently been a vocal debater when it comes to the company's choice of LTE and his desire to see WiMAX as a subset of the 4G technology. In 2005, Sarin was strongly criticized for the company's slowing financial results. Some investors called for him to resign. Today, the operator is posting solid profits.
