Samsung making 802.11n set-top box for video

Tools

WiFi chip maker Metalink has teamed with Samsung and video decoder STMicroelectronics to make its WLANPlus 802.11n chips transmit high-definition video in the home with a Samsung set-top box. It won't be the first set-top box with 802.11n but the first time players with some major clout are doing it. The companies expect the box to go into mass production in the third quarter of 2007 with a likely distribution to end users by cable and satellite TV providers.
