SPOTLIGHT: iPhone jamming Duke University WiFi network

Tools

Apple's iPhone appears to be wreaking havoc on parts of Duke University's WiFi network. A Duke University spokesman said an analysis of the traffic found that iPhones jammed parts of the campus' network with access requests, freezing parts of the network in 10-minute increments. One iPhone is powerful enough to cause the problem and some 100 to 150 of the devices are registered on the network, Duke University said. Network administrators have noticed the problem nine times in the past week. The iPhone is programmed to constantly connect to the Internet through wireless access points. Article
