Strategy Analytics: Comcast's WiMAX offering in position to pressure AT&T, Verizon

Tools

Strategy Analytics says Comcast's new High-Speed 2go service--set to launch in Portland, Ore.--that bundles Clearwire's WiMAX service with its own broadband services, will put pressure on AT&T and Verizon. The firm points out Comcast is offering mobile broadband and high-speed home Internet service for $50, a bundle neither AT&T nor Verizon are offering at this point. The key, said Strategy Analytics, is for Comcast to market its service and gain traction with subscribers before AT&T and Verizon come to market with similar offerings. A key way for Comcast to gain traction will be by offering compelling services that build on its position in provisioning video entertainment in the home. Release
