Study: AT&T's LTE network faster than Verizon's

Tools

Network and mobile device analytics Metrico Wireless pitted Verizon Wireless' (NYSE:VZ) LTE network against AT&T Mobility's (NYSE:T), finding that AT&T's average LTE speed are better than Verizon's, for now. The firm, which also found that LTE offers more than five times the performance of these carriers' respective 3G offerings, used five LTE handsets for its tests: the HTC Vivid and Samsung Galaxy S II on AT&T, and the HTC Thunderbolt, Samsung Droid Charge and Motorola Droid Bionic on Verizon's network. Metrico believes this disparity is likely due to the fact that Verizon's LTE service is more established and has significantly more subscribers using data on it. Article
