Survey: More than half of U.S. consumers want cellular modems if price is right

Tools

A new survey from ABI Research found that almost half of U.S. consumers are interested in cellular modems, but are only willing to pay if the price is half of what operators are charging for mobile broadband plans. ABI said one reason consumers don't want to pay is because they are already paying for high-speed fixed access at home. Mobile broadband costs about $60 per month. Of the 1,000 consumers ABI surveyed, about 47 percent don't own a cellular modem but are interested in using one if the service were to cost $30 per month or less. Article
