Verizon CTO spells out CDMA's role when LTE comes

Verizon Wireless Chief Technology Officer Tony Melone told attendees of Ericsson's Capital Markets Day event last week that the operator would operate its existing CDMA network in parallel with its Long Term Evolution (LTE) using the CDMA 1x network for voice traffic during the LTE rollout and likely supporting the technology through 2020.
